| New Year's Resolutions Recap, and this year's misguided attempt to improve myself. |

Last year I planned to: + Move out of my house, moving to and going to school in Bloomington, IN This didn't happen. Instead, I changed my course of study to Surgical Technician and stuck around valpo. This turned out to be a much more stable plan, though it's not very adventurous until I'm in the job market. + Make at least one entire graphic novel for public release. I don't know why this didn't happen. I managed to develop a plot line with some fairly dynamic characters, but didn't storyboard it. Maybe I'll do that this year. + Become the new face of linux. This sort of happened every time there was a Mac vs. PC debate. I don't run any windows or mac computers, so I was pretty much the only linux guy in Valparaiso. I am what linux looks like in NWI. + Excel at all and any studies/activities. I feel like I could have done better. I really just kind of let myself go this year, and that isn't at all excellent. + Begin writing a short book for public release. I did this during NaNoWriMo. :D Chock that one up to a win. + Show up on youtube. I tried video editing in linux, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life (Why do I have to use the command line interface to put subtitles in a video?). Maybe if VLC Video Editor works nicely I'll have something on there next year. + Be more active in general. Oh fuck no. I failed hard. No physical activity at all this year. + Find cure for death. I found many ways to delay death, but no cure for it yet. I learned about Darwinian Gastronomy, and I plan on using that knowledge to be a healthier person. + Form a cult I changed my mind. I don't want to form a cult so much as I want to form a tribe. Assuming that the golden third is actually a third of the population, I would do well to find them and associate myself with them.
This year was at best mediocre as far as accomplishments are concerned. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that I spent a lot of time leisurely and then stressing about deadlines instead of just getting shit done. I can definitely improve upon my methods in 2010.
This year I plan to: +Get into the Surg Tech program near the top of the list. +Practice Archery to the extent that I could be competitive. +Run at least three miles a week, regardless of whether or not I want to (or at the very least, an hour of DDR a week). +Get rid of lots of really cool shit that is cluttering my space, and consequentially, my life. +Get some sort of electronic planner that alerts me that I'm supposed to be doing things (maybe a smartphone?). +Make things specifically with the purpose of selling them. +Study smarter. +Eat better. +Work on some sort of film.
